Emergentes receives the Cultura Viva Award.

The second edition of Cultura Viva rewarded the Mairenero Meeting.

Cultura Viva, organized by the Cruzcampo Foundation, is a call for aid to cultural initiatives that pursue social goals. Through it, they aim to promote the culture that creates social value and which are committed to the cultural, economic and social development of Andalusia.

Emergentes has been awarded in the avant-garde category, as a contemporary initiative focused on achieving social changes through new formats and cultural languages, revolutionizing forms or artistic contents to propose new visions of reality that generate changes in mentality and set trends.

The Cruzcampo Foundation supports the Encuentro as a contemporary project conceived in Andalusia but open to the global market, which raises new visions of reality, generates changes in mentality and sets trends for the future.

After having received this distinction last year being one of the ten awarded projects from more than two hundred proposals submitted, Emergentes returns to take the trust of the Culture of Life jury for the seventh edition of the Meeting that will take place between 26 and 29 of July.

One month for the sixth edition of EMERGENTES!

The calendar progresses and little by little we are approaching the 6th edition of EMERGENTES – International Meeting of Young Creators in Performing Arts. This year the appointment with the Performing Arts has been advanced to the last days of July, specifically between 27 and 30, a conference that will once again place Mairena del Alcor as a benchmark in international young creation.

EMERGENTES, an event that has brought together more than 4,000 spectators in recent editions, is organized by the City Council of Mairena del Alcor and the Inhabited Cultural Theater Association. This initiative does not find its support only in the public, but also in the institutions: for this edition it has been achieved that important organizations such as Iberescena, the Cruzcampo Foundation through the call Cultura Viva and the Institute of Youth of Spain – INJUVE join the support of institutions that have been betting for a long time for this meeting as they are the Provincial Council of Seville, the Ministry of Culture or the Andalusian Institute of Youth of the Junta de Andalucía.

Seventeen functions, more than ten different scenarios, thirteen companies, two own productions, training workshops, an exhibition and creators of twelve different nationalities are some of the data that accompany EMERGENTES 2017.

The participating companies of this edition will be Colectivo Zoológico (Chile), Cía. Anabel Veloso (Almería), DelCarmen Teatro (Costa Rica), Cía. Diego Sinniger (Barcelona), Julio César Project (Mexico), Cia. Nadine Gerspacher (Germany), Márgenes Theater (Almería), Mona Collective (Brazil), Cía. Joaquín Collado (Albacete), Grupo iNTIMO (Uruguay), Wenceslada (Argentina), Cía. Agata Meyer-Lüters & amp; Agnieszka Bednarz (Poland) and Frantics Dance Company (Germany, with creators from South Korea, Greece, Italy and Spain).

As usual in recent editions, the Meeting will be preceded by a previous program that will be developed by different places in Mairena from July 24 to 26, this year being the protagonist of the Own Youth Production, with the direction of the Extremaduran actress Ana Donoso Mora (Delirio Theater). Natalia Mariño, National Director of Costa Rica, will be in charge of directing the other Own Production of EMERGENTES, which will serve to close the Meeting.

Open the registration period for Escuela Teatro Habitado 2017 – 2018

The month of June will put the finishing touch to the sixth year of operation of the Municipal Theater Inhabited Theater with the samples of the different groups. This initiative emerged in June 2011 thanks to the understanding between the members of Teatro Habitado and the Hon. City Council of Mairena del Alcor.

It is now possible to reserve a place for the annual courses that will start at the beginning of October. From 5 years old, courses for all ages!

The UNIFESTIVAL 2017 returns

Festival of Performing Arts Unipersonal.

From the 12th to the 14th of May the second edition of UNIFESTIVAL will take place in Mairena del Alcor.

The UNIFESTIVAL was born last year with the intention of being a new space for the exhibition of creative processes born of young creators, adding to the line of work that has been developing for years in Mairena del Alcor with Emergentes – International Meetings of Young Creators in the Performing Arts and the Municipal School of Performing Arts Theater Inhabited.

A meeting place where different young companies can share their work, their processes, their concerns, their vision of the theater and the transcendence with their social and personal reality through their specific shows and master classes.

During the three days of the festival, the companies, the public and theater students will be able to enjoy an intense activity. In addition to the performances of the participating shows, the training will have a key place in the programming; Each company will give a workshop on some of the concepts developed in the research process of their show.

UNIFESTIVAL aspires to be a boost for young emerging companies, with strong creative processes and that do not always find spaces to exhibit their proposals and their scenic languages ​​outside of precariousness.

Record call for EMERGENTES 2017.

    • More than 340 proposals received, almost doubling the previous call.
    • Creators from 30 countries aspire to be selected.
    • EMERGENTES 2017 will take place from July 27 to 30 in Mairena del Alcor.
    The sixth edition of EMERGENTES – International Meeting of Young Creators in the Performing Arts closed on February 28 the deadline for the reception of proposals in order to configure this year’s programming. The result has been more than 340 proposals received, which is an absolute record of this call, increasing by about 90% the number of applications from the previous edition.
    If we break down the candidacies by their place of origin, Spain is in the lead with 114 proposals, followed by the 72 requests that have arrived from Mexico, which confirms again the relevance of this event in this country. Argentina with 49 proposals, Colombia with 23 and Chile with 17 also stand out among the countries that have sent the most candidatures. The other countries from which we have received requests for participation are China, Poland, the Philippines, Brazil, Australia, Cuba, Sweden, Uruguay, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Portugal, Costa Rica, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic , Russia, Germany, Bolivia, Italy, Greece, Vietnam, Guatemala and Holland.
    Pieces of contemporary dance, documentary theater, flamenco, children’s theater, circus, gestural theater, performances or butoh dance assure us that the sixth edition of this Encuentro, which will be held in Mairena del Alcor from July 27 to 30, will be marked by the diversity of styles and themes, as well as a very high quality.
